Wiping Unused Disk Space

Attention! When a disk is wiped, all previously deleted files cannot be restored! No Windows or third-party data recovery utility can do this!

You do not have to start R-Wipe&Clean to wipe unused space on a single disk. You may do this from Windows Explorer. Make sure that the Add the R-Wipe&Clean tab to the disk Properties check box is selected on the Integration tab.

You may also include disk wiping into a large wiping and cleaning task. Go to the Setting a Large Wipe and Clean Task section for details.

Disk data you can wipe depends on your user account type and Windows version.

To wipe unused disk space on a single disk,

Right-click the disk in Windows Explorer, and select Wipe free space! on the menu.

The R-Wipe&Clean tab will appear.

Select the wiping settings for this disk and click the Wipe now button.

R-Wipe&Clean will start wiping the disk, and the Wiping dialog box will appear showing the wiping progress. When R-Wipe&Clean finishes wiping, the Report dialog box will appear.

To wipe unused disk space on several disks,

In the BarView, click Unused Space

In the TreeView, select Unused Space

The Unused Space settings will appear in the right pane.

Select the disks you want to wipe.

If necessary, change the wiping settings, and click the Wipe Now button.

R-Wipe&Clean will start wiping the disk, and the Wiping dialog box will appear showing the wiping progress. When R-Wipe&Clean finishes wiping, the Report dialog box will appear.

You may interrupt wiping. Click the Stop button. Wiping will be stoped, and the Report dialog box will appear, showing how much of unused space has been wiped.
